Iditarod on KNOM

Station Equipment

KNOM is on the air 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We're heard from Bethel to Barrow and throughout the villages and rural stretches of the Alaskan Bush. Thanks for listening!

KNOM takes you on the trail – on the web and, of course, on the air!

If you’re in Western Alaska, tune in to 96.1 fm and 780 am to explore Iditarod 2011 from all the angles:

  • Relive the stories of past races with Iditarod Moments: on weekdays at 7:45am and 4:30pm, and on weekends (Saturday/Sunday) right after 12noon and 5pm news.
  • Follow the race standings and events on the trail with daily Iditarod Updates (starting Monday, March 7th), at 9am, 12noon, 5pm, and 8pm (a new, earlier update time for this year!).
  • Hear mushers share their thoughts and trail stories with Iditarod Feature Interviews, airing, when available, immediately after Iditarod Updates (at 9am, 12noon, 5pm and 8pm).
  • When the lead mushers approach the finish line, listen for live coverage of their arrival under the burled arch in Nome.

And of course, keep coming back to knomonthetrail.org! We’ll have the latest news, photos, interviews, and audio, including some content that you won’t find anywhere else.

Want even more? For Iditarod headlines and the latest at KNOM, follow us on Twitter“like” us on Facebook, and – new for 2011! – check out our photostream on Flickr.

Thanks for visiting, and thanks for listening. We’re KNOM: Yours for Race Season in Western Alaska.
